Tender Offer

Description

When one door closes, another opens to unlock your heart and awaken unexpected desires.

Trying to find love has become a graveyard of disappointment. My dating history reads like an obituary of bad decisions and a lack of common sense. I have neither the patience, a map, Ciara’s prayer, nor holy water to keep swiping right.

After a recent rejection to add to my wall of shame, I’m done. Over it. There are only so many skid marks-the kind left on your forehead and not from questionable hygiene-one can bear after being tossed aside, and none of them go with couture.

Every failed attempt at a happily ever after is another reminder of the ghost who haunts me to this day. Fifteen years later, I still feel his whisper against my ear.

His taste.

His touch.

Forgetting Preston and our time in Paris has never been easy. It’s impossible now that life forced our paths to cross. The determination in his eyes and my nickname on his lips earned him a door in his face.

Why is he here and so fine?

Love has never come without a cost. But this time, it comes with an offer that’s hard to refuse.
