Article: A liberal Black city has become Va. Gov. Youngkin’s unlikely project

The city we serve, Petersburg, VA, is amidst a revival. From its tough economic history, the resultant poverty and crime, the city is trying to do everything possible to grow and businesses like ours are part of the solution.

Our approach to this city is to win for the people. Literacy improvement has to be a focus as it will help to grow the ability of Petersburg’s citizens to fill the new tech-focused jobs entering the area and begin to raise the median income. My hope is that the recent programs by the current state administration are not merely a political stunt but the start of sustained investment.
